Gernot Ernst, MD, PhD - Anesthesiologist at Kongsberg Hospital and Associate Professor at the University of Oslo. He works daily with the patient group and possesses profound pharmacological knowledge. Clinical lead for the project.

Siri Leknes, PhD - Professor at the University of Oslo's Department of Psychology and Senior Researcher at Oslo University Hospital. Expert on pain, reward, and opioid psychopharmacology. Academic lead (together with Eikemo).

Marie Eikemo, PhD - Senior researcher at the Acute Clinic, Oslo University Hospital, and researcher in health psychology at the University of Oslo, with a background in affective neuroscience and psychopharmacology. Expert in stress, reward/addiction, and opioid psychopharmacology. Academic lead (together with Leknes).

Leiv Arne Rosseland, MD, PhD - Professor of Anesthesiology at Oslo University Hospital and an anesthesiologist and a research leader at Oslo University Hospital. Member of the project management group.

Harald Lenz, MD, PhD - Chief Anesthesiologist and Postdoctoral Researcher at Oslo University Hospital. Responsible for data collection at OUS until 2025, analysis, and interpretation.

Siri Gurandsrud Karlsen - Anesthesia Nurse and Ph.D. candidate at Kongsberg Hospital. Involved in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Marlin Comelon, MD, PhD - Anesthesiologist and postdoctoral researcher at Oslo University Hospital. Responsible for data collection at OUS from 2026, and for analysis and interpretation.

Martin Trøstheim, PhD - Researcher at the Department of Psychology, UiO. Responsible for data management, analysis, and interpretation.


Kaja Buen - Research Nurse. Works daily with the patient group at Kongsberg Hospital. She will be involved in data collection and data quality assurance.
Anni Sofie - PhD candidate at the Department of Psychology, University of Oslo. Involved in data collection, analysis, and interpretation .

Mathias Roland - Master in Cognitive Neuroscience. Involved in project coordination, data collection and interpretation.

Elisabeth Leere Øiestad, PhD - researcher at Oslo University Hospital and associate professor at the Institue of Pharmacy.

Silje Reme, PhD - Professor of Health Psychology at the University of Oslo and clinical psychologist at the Pain Clinic, Oslo University Hospital. Advisor to the project, with a particular focus on pain and long-term symptoms


Isabell Meier, PhD - Researcher at Kongsberg and the University of Oslo, with a background in affective neuroscience and psychopharmacology. Former postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the project.
Guro Løseth, PhD - Clinical psychologist and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Oslo. Will provide advice on clinical questions and offer support for any incidental findings that may require a clinical psychologist.
Eric Garland, PhD - Endowed Professor at the Sanford Institute for Empathy and Compassion and Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego. Advisor to the study
Chantal Berna, PhD - Professor at Lausanne University Hospital and Director of the Center for Integrative and Complementary Medicine. Advisor to the study
Claudia Denke, PhD - Clinical psychologist at Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany. Will be involved in data analysis and interpretation.
